  • Cello Recital & History Project

Wow... talk about not updating.  Reading my last post was like a blast from the past!  woah...  hahaha

Today was my cello recital.  yay!  I played Elegie by Gabriel Faure.  (essential cello piece to any cellist's cello repertoire) I actually didn't think I did too good, but people clapped pretty loudly and many people said good job afterward.  It made me feel good because I always make HUGE mistakes at recitals or it just suck.  Haha... talk about putting it bluntly.  Also Mrs Kaller, my cello teacher, said it was the best i've ever played at a recital so YAY!

Now, I have to start a history project that is due Mon.  @.@  It's such a big part of my grade I don't know why I put it off to the last second when I knew that I had a recital...  Procrastinating sucks but I can't stop...  (I sound like someone who's addicted to something.  "Smoking sucks but I can't stop..."  hahaha)

I just realized I have a Their Eyes Were Watching God test on Mon in english.  Meh...

OOOO~!  And I got invited to a MASQUERADE (woot~!) like in Romeo and Juliet!  (I'm such a nerd...)  My sister was like a masquerade?!  hahaha.  (someone's sweet sixteen party.  not some freak randomly having a masquerade  hahaha.)

    moil \MOYL\, intransitive verb:
    1. To work with painful effort; to labor; to toil; to drudge.
    2. To churn or swirl about continuously.

    noun:
    1. Toil; hard work; drudgery.
    2. Confusion; turmoil.

Why should he toil and moil, and be at so much trouble to pick himself up out the mud, when, in a little while hence, the strong arm of his Uncle will raise and support him?
-- Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter
He saw himself in the sleepless moil of early parenthood, and felt a plunging anxiety.
    -- Alan Hollinghurst, The Spell

Moil comes from Middle English moillen, "to soak, to wet," hence "to soil, to soil one's hands, to work very hard," from Old French moillier, "to soften, especially by making wet," ultimately from Latin mollis, "soft."
